What is the difference between a note counting machine and a value counting machine?
A basic machine counts how many notes passed through. A value counting machine recognises each denomination and gives you the total amount as well as the count, which is what you need when the cash is mixed and has to be reconciled against a figure.
Can a machine count mixed denomination notes together?
Mixed denomination machines can sort and total jumbled cash in a single pass. Basic loose-note counters cannot — they count pieces, so mixed cash has to be separated by denomination first.
