A camera system is only as good as the plan behind it. Before quoting, we look at the site and work out what you are actually trying to see — a face at the entrance, the cash counter, the loading bay, the boundary at night — because each of those needs a different camera, lens and mounting position.

From there the job runs in a predictable order: decide camera positions and count, choose resolution and lens, size the recorder and storage for the retention you want, plan cable routes and power, install and terminate, then configure recording, motion settings and remote access. We hand over with the app working on your phone and show you how to pull footage out when you need it.

There is no fixed number — it depends on entry points and the areas that matter. As a practical starting point, most sites cover every door and gate first, then the areas where money, stock or equipment sits, then general movement areas.

Retention is a storage decision, not a camera decision. The number of days you can go back depends on how many cameras are recording, at what resolution, at what frame rate, and how big the hard disk is. Continuous recording on many high-resolution cameras fills a disk far faster than motion-triggered recording on a few.

Tell us how many days you want to be able to review and we will size the disk for it, rather than fitting a standard disk and letting it overwrite sooner than you expected.

Wired systems are still the right answer for most permanent installations. They are more stable, they do not compete with your Wi-Fi, and power and data can run together. Wireless cameras make sense where cabling genuinely cannot be run — a remote gate, a rented space, a temporary site — and where a reliable signal is available at the camera position.

We will tell you honestly which one suits your building instead of selling whichever is easier to install.

We also take on systems we did not install. Common faults we are called for are cameras that have stopped working after a power surge or monsoon water ingress, recorders that fail to boot, disks that have failed silently so nothing has been recorded for weeks, and remote viewing that stopped working after a broadband or router change.

If you are running an older analogue system, an upgrade does not always mean replacing everything — in many cases the recorder and cameras can be upgraded while reusing existing cable runs.
